Reason for surgery- I had severe malocclusion since I was younger so I had trouble eating certain foods and it affected my daily activities. My chin had protruded a lot and my facial asymmetry kept getting worse which cause me a lot of stress. Due to the stress, I decided to get surgery.
Reason
for choosing EU- I started looking up different
clinics after I made up my mind to get double jaw surgery and found out about
EU Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. I asked the doctor question one by one and
he was able to answer all of them. Also, there were a lot of reviews of
patients with pretty facial lines from EU, which earned my trust. Also, the
consultant was very kind which is what made me chose EU.
Day of Surgery
When I opened my eyes, the
surgery was already over. I was told that I couldn’t sleep for four hours so I kept
going in and out of sleep. I wasn’t fully conscious and after the four hours, I
kept sleeping.

Other than having slight nosebleeds and my throat hurting, I was able to breath and sleep well. I was worried that it would be too painful but maybe it was due to the injection, I couldn’t feel much pain! I wondered if I really did go through surgery or not. My mom was fascinated to see how well I was doing after surgery.

I received de-swelling laser treatment today. Just like yesterday, I
am able to breath properly and I only have a slightly irritated throat. Since I
have to be in the recovery room for the whole day, time seems to pass slowly. I’m
really bored but at least I can discharge from the clinic soon.

I feel so comfortable coming back home. My
throat hurts whenever I swallow my spit but other than that, I do not have any
discomfort. The swelling seems to be more severe today so I will try my best to
receive the de-swelling laser treatments every day.
Day 7 Post OP
Since I am going to the clinic to do the
laser treatment, the swelling seems like it decreased. My face seems to change every
day. Whenever I see my smaller jaw while the swelling decreases, it amazes me
because my face looks smaller.

I wore makeup for the first time after surgery
and went outside. I’m still trying to adjust to how I look. Wearing makeup and
a mask does not make it obvious that I am someone who had surgery. I hope my
swelling gets better soon.

I removed my stitches removed. I didn’t
think it was going to be painful at all but it did hurt a little. But it was a
pain I could tolerate so it was okay. I was told that my swelling would get
better after I got my stitches removed, and it seems like the case. My swelling
seems to have decreased compared to yesterday.

The swelling has decreased so much that
I don’t seem like someone who had surgery. I can eat foods as long as it’s not
too hard or tough to chew!! I’m satisfied whenever I see slow changes to my
face.

My face got swollen after I ate ramyeon
last night…. I’m already swollen due to the surgery but it got a lot better. My
jaw looks shorter and I can see my jawline getting more visible.

2 months have passed by quickly and it
seems most of the swelling has decreased. My jaw looks more shorter!! Time is
medicine for double jaw surgery. People around me say that my face looks
smaller and that it’s amazing that I had the courage to get double jaw surgery.

Most of the bigger swelling has decreased
after two months. It seems like there hasn’t been much change for the past few
days, maybe it’s because I keep eating too much…. The swelling in the jaw area
seems to decrease the slowest. The double chin is bothering me but compared to
before, it has decreased a lot. I can eat most foods, as long as it’s not too
tough to chew!

When I take pictures of my side profile, I
can see that my chin has been pushed back to a good position, which is making
me really happy! I still have some swelling left in my jaw… but I really like
my side profile.

I feel like the results that I wanted
before surgery is starting to become more visible. I’m starting to take a lot
of selfies now. My facial asymmetry also improved a lot and my face looks
shorter which makes me highly highly highly satisfied! I’m able to eat any
food well, even meats such as fried chicken and beef!

Before surgery, I never took pictures of my
side profile. After surgery, I keep taking pictures. Since my chin got pushed
back, my nose bridge looks higher and my lips have the shape that I really wanted
before surgery. I feel so happy nowadays and I recommend double jaw surgery to
people around me who also want surgery as well. I couldn’t be happier.

It’s already been 5 months since my
surgery. I almost forget that I had surgery and I can basically eat any foods
now without any discomfort! My face has gotten much shorter compared to how I
looked before surgery. It’s noticeable when I look at my face with my camera.
Day

It seems like there hasn’t been any changes to my face nowadays. My jaw and lips look really natural now!
Day 165 Post-OP
I can see my jawline better and the
swelling around my double chin area has decreased. People around me say that my
face became smaller.
Day 170 Post-OP
I feel that my facial asymmetry got a lot
better. I took a selfie with the standard camera on my phone andmy asymmetry
does not look severe so I’m happy.
Day 180 Post-OP
I can almost chew all types of meats but I
still cannot chew anything that is too tough. Since I can eat almost all types
of food now, I feel that the face shape is becoming more clear (due to the
swelling decreasing).
Day 218 Post-OP
I feel that the swelling has not decreased
much lately. I’m used to how I look now since I look at my face everyday. It
seems that there hasn’t been much change lately. But I still love my face!~
Day 261 Post-OP
It’s almost the end of my braces procedure.
I am able to bite down properly and chewing with my front teeth is comfortable.
There are no discomforts and my face looks smaller so I’m very happy.
11 Months Post-OP
I’m finished with post-op orthodontics and
the braces got taken off!! I’m using a retainer now. I feel like I will forget
that I had surgery since I no longer need braces. When I compared my photos
from a few months ago, I realized that my face keeps changing little by little.
12
Months Post-OP
It’s been a year since my surgery. I’m
experiencing no discomforts and I’m glad that I had surgery. It still amazes me
when I see that my occlusion matches now. I’m comfortable and I’m able to do my
daily activities without any problem!
