What is Protruded Mouth?
A mouth protrusion refers to cases where the mouth appears relatively protruded compared to the edge of the jaw or the nose when seen from the side.
The underlying cause of protruded mouth is either certain or entire part of the upper jaw (maxilla) that includes upper teeth or the lower jaw (mandible) that includes lower teeth is notably protruded forward when compared to the edge of the nose or jaw.

In general, at least 6 months of minimum orthodontic treatment is needed prior to double jaw surgery, and another period of orthodontic treatment is needed after the surgery. The entire process of double jaw surgery takes up 2 years on average to be completed.
