Motivation of the surgery and why EU?

When I was young, my chin didn't stick out, but as I passed puberty, my jaw began to twist to the right and my front jaw began to protrude. At first, it was stress that only I knew, but from high school, more and more people recognized me. At first, I thought it would be solved by orthodontics, so I went to all the famous jaw dentists here and there. The he told me that I need "double jaw surgery" so I asked my acquaintances who had experience in double jaw surgery. She did surgery at EU and she really liked it! People say that it's not too bad to worry about teeth, but those who haven't been teased won't know how I felt until I decided to do it.

Post OP Day

I was worried about waking up the anesthesia, but fortunately, my vomiting and nausea were not severe and I was out of mind. I think I fell asleep, but I don't even remember falling asleep. I felt like dying because I couldn't breathe and I had to hold a straw in my mouth to barely breathe with my mouth. I heard that it will be much better after a day, but I hope this hellish time ends soon.

My face is still swelling until today. I think I am the person who have a lot of swelling. I am trying not to be upset looking in the mirror. I believe I'll be look much better. And I'm getting tired of hunger and tiredness. There are so many foods I want to eat. Today, I ate ice cream, yogurt, and soup. I hope time goes by quickly.

I went to see the doctor today to disinfect it. I thought time would never pass, but it's already been a week since the surgery. If I look back for a week, I've had a hard time adjusting to food, pain, and breathing. I feel like another day is passing by comforting myself thinking that tomorrow will be better than today. I had an appointment today, so I wore a little make-up and went around wearing a mask. Everyone who sees it tells me that my swelling has gone down. I feel so good. I want time to pass quickly and go back to my daily life.

As the second week approaches, the tingling and tickling are getting bigger! As I recover and feel my senses come back, the stitches feel pricklier. I still have a bit sensation from my philtrum and lower lip to my chin. As time goes by, I can see that the swelling goes down little by little, so I enjoy looking in the mirror. Today, I cut the seaweed soup ramen into small pieces and swallowed it with the soup. Whether the wafer is well adapted or not, it is a little hard to pronounce, but now I speak well.

Now, as the sense of the inner cheek of the gums gradually returns. Until the second week, my upper gums had no sensation at all, and it bothers me that it stings, but on the other hand, I'm glad. When I read other people's reviews, they say that there is a stagnant period of swelling. I think I'm in a state of stagnation. I feel like I'm stopping for a while after losing weight every day. So I eat two pumpkin juices a day and walk around steadily. And now I feel like wafer is part of my body already.

Every time I open my mouth, I feel my muscles stiff, so I force myself to do opening exercises these days. I am practicing smiling steadily except that I feel a little foreign when brushing my teeth because I can't feel my upper jaw.

As the sense of gums gradually returns, the braces and the screws are also uncomfortable. Also, sensation from chin start to coming back slowly!

Now that the month has come closer, there is no problem with my daily life except eating. My friend told me that my profile changed a lot that she cannot recognized me! And everyone who sees it is amazed that my face has become too small. Before surgery, if I put down my bangs, my lower jaw would look prominent and my side would look more like a lantern chin, so I always had my bangs long and handed over. I love it. It feels so different from before the surgery. It's amazing!

My face shape gets much smoother than last time when I reach post op 1 month. The bumpy ones have decreased a lot, and the nose and philtrum have also decreased a lot, so I think it's becoming similar as my previous nose and philtrum. My friends told me that I look so natural like I never done any surgery in my life. Also, right after surgery my skin gets ruined a lot but it gets better in these days.

A little over a month after the surgery, the apparent swelling seems to be subsiding! I'm taking a break from the opening mouth experience. I thought my upper gums sense would come back, but I don't have much sense yet. Fortunately, my lips and jaw feel are almost back! These days, I'm staying at home and slowly chewing on soft things after a month's treatment, and I'm gaining a lot of weight. So I'm walking for about two hours a day, but I lost a lot of muscles after surgery, so my stamina isn't as strong as before. Even if I walk a little, my whole body aches. I should start a light muscle workout soon.

I've been take out the wafer for a long time. Now I feel less like my muscles are going to tear up even when I do open exercises and I can chew on food more and more. I feel much comfortable! After a week, I will start braces! I still have a swollen nose and square face, but people say that I feel less chubby now! In fact, when I was more swollen than now, I regretted the surgery because the recovery period was too long and the numbness was so uncomfortable and difficult to adjust it. L  but now I think it's a good thing that I did the surgery whenever I looked in the mirror!

I feel like I'm chewing something better now that I've started post-braces! It's only been two months, but I still have a lot of swelling left in my gums, so I still get swept away by braces or screws. I'm getting less swollen, but I can't help it if I get swollen in the morning and get reduce of it in the evening! Maybe it's because the swelling goes down or my jaw is still swollen, but my nose feels a little smaller. When I touched it, it was tight and hard, but now my nose is soft.

The sensation of the upper gums was partially returned. At first, when I swallowed water, brushing my teeth, and swallowing saliva, I was worried that sense would never come back, but I didn't feel uncomfortable when I got used to it. When I pressed my gums with my fingernails, I could feel that something was touching my gums. I'm living my daily life without any major inconvenience, and I'm doing well while staying bloated in the morning and falling surprisingly at night.

Post OP 80 Days

The roof of my mouth is sour when I brush teeth, and if I press it with tongue, I can feel it. The roof of my mouth, which I had no sense at all, is coming back! As the three months pass by, I can eat food with front teeth and eat almost everything except hard foods like pickled radish! The face shapes that changes as the swelling goes down is amazing. Maybe because the right jaw is bigger before the surgery, the swelling goes on for a long time. The procedure and recovery of the right side were too difficult. Through the surgery more beneficial to me even though I was suffering this time. I love to see myself from the mirror.

Post OP 3 Months

I heard that post op 3 months, I could start chewing meat. I was so curious about how the swelling would change after 3 months. Now, everyone says they don't even notice that I did double jaw surgery. Before the surgery, I was often told that I looked like a cat, but now I'm getting swollen, or if my face has changed as my chin went in, I hear a lot about cute awards and dog looks. The swelling in my mouth, which was my biggest concern, is almost gone, so if I put my finger in my cheek, I can even feel my molars in the back!

Post OP 4 Months

I feel every time I visited to the hospital for orthodontics.  The doctor said I can eat any food that what I want to eat (but my facial bone did not recover 100% that try my best to avid chew hard food!).
