Surgeon: Dr. Hee-Jin Shin
Ever since I was young, I was often teased because of my jaw and facial shape, and over time I became more introverted.
I naturally started avoiding being in front of people and even taking photos.
I was especially self-conscious about my facial proportions and jawline, which I knew could potentially be improved through double jaw surgery and facial contouring. Seeing myself in photos was often stressful for me.
As time went on, my confidence gradually dropped, and I started feeling that I wanted to address the root of my insecurities rather than just live with them.
I didn’t simply want to look prettier. I wanted double jaw surgery and facial contouring to improve the overall balance of my face in a natural way and help me feel more confident in myself.
That was ultimately what made me decide to have surgery.
I first came across EU Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery through YouTube and several online communities where I saw many reviews about double jaw surgery and facial contouring.
What stood out to me was that reviews from actual patients were posted consistently, so I decided to visit the clinic for a consultation myself.
During the consultation, they explained everything realistically without exaggerating and calmly went through the options based on my own facial structure and concerns.
Since I was considering both double jaw surgery and facial contouring together, that gave me a lot of confidence in the clinic.
After the consultation, I felt that this was a place I could trust with my surgery, so I decided to choose EU.

Today I visited the clinic to have my stitches removed.
I still have to wear the wafer, so it is a little uncomfortable, but it is definitely manageable and not enough to interfere with my daily life.
Compared with the beginning, a lot of the swelling has already gone down, and when I look in the mirror, I can really see that my facial contour is starting to look more defined.
Most of the bruising has also faded, so I feel much more relieved that my recovery seems to be progressing faster than I expected.
I’ve been wearing my wafer as instructed, and the swelling continues to go down.
I’ve also been doing my jaw-opening exercises regularly.
At the moment, I can open my mouth wide enough to fit about two fingers.
Most of the bruising is gone, and the swelling has decreased significantly compared with the early recovery period.
Overall, I feel like my recovery is progressing steadily and smoothly.

I noticed a mild inflammatory reaction around my cheek, so I visited the clinic and had it checked and treated right away.
For now, I’m continuing to monitor the area.
Thankfully, because they responded quickly, I haven’t had any additional pain or discomfort from swelling, and almost all of the bruising is gone.
I’m continuing my jaw exercises without overdoing them and mostly eating soft foods to support the healing process.
Overall, my recovery has been quite stable so far.

The swelling has gone down noticeably, and my overall facial shape looks much more natural now.
Eating and speaking have also become easier as I continue practicing, and I barely experience any discomfort in daily life anymore.
The bruising has completely disappeared, so there are almost no visible signs of surgery.
At this point, I feel like I’ve recovered enough to return to normal daily life comfortably, and I’m very happy with how things are going.
These days, whenever I meet my friends, they tell me that my overall vibe has changed so much.
Sometimes people don’t even recognize me at first, but the change still looks very natural.
My facial lines look much cleaner than before, and my overall impression feels softer, so I’m really happy whenever I take photos.
More importantly, I also feel much more comfortable functionally.
I can now eat and chew hard or chewy foods with almost no discomfort, and daily life feels completely normal again.
As more time passes, I can feel the swelling and the slight awkwardness continuing to improve. I’m becoming more satisfied with the result every day.
It has already been six months, and now everything feels completely natural in daily life.
I’m so comfortable that I sometimes forget I even had surgery.
The discomfort that used to bother me before is almost completely gone now, and I’m really happy with the improvement.
I have no problems with chewing or speaking, and I can enjoy food comfortably again.
My quality of life has improved so much.
As time goes by, my face also continues to look more natural, and every time I look in the mirror, I feel even happier with the result.
I honestly think every day that I’m glad I decided to have surgery.

Now that seven months have passed, both my daily life and eating have improved a lot.
In the beginning, I had to be very careful when eating or moving my mouth.
Now, chewing during meals feels natural, and I can have conversations without any discomfort.
As time has passed, I can really feel how much I’ve recovered from double jaw surgery.
At this point, I barely think about the fact that I had surgery during my everyday routine.
What I appreciate most is that basic daily activities like eating and talking feel completely natural again.
Overall, I’m very satisfied and doing really well.

I can’t believe it has already been nine months since my double jaw surgery!
These days, whenever I meet friends or go out, people tell me that my surgery turned out really well and that it was definitely worth doing.
It makes me so happy every time I hear that.
Before surgery, I used to feel very stressed about my face, and even when meeting people, there were always things I felt self-conscious about.
Now, most of that stress is gone, which feels amazing.
As time has passed, the swelling has continued to settle naturally and my face has become more and more defined, so I can really see the difference between before and after surgery now.
At this point, I don’t really think about the fact that I had surgery anymore. I just live my everyday life comfortably.
Most importantly, I feel much more comfortable meeting people than I did before.
These days, I make plans more often, go out more, and feel much more confident overall.
I think that increase in confidence is one of the things I’m happiest about.
Now that I’m nine months post-op, I’m grateful not only for the physical changes, but also for the fact that I can finally live without constantly worrying about the things that used to stress me out.
